CivilEstimate

Terms of use

Version 0.2 · 12 October 2026 (early access draft)

A drafting tool for your own priced estimate, not a substitute for your professional judgement.

This is a first working draft written by the founder for a controlled pilot, not a document that has been through independent legal review. Treat it as what it says, not as legal advice.

What this is

CivilEstimate is a controlled pilot estimating tool for civil-engineering quantity surveyors and contractors. It helps you import a BOQ, build up rates against evidence you supply or approve, and produce a review pack. It does not price anything on its own: every rate, quantity and assumption in a saved tender is either entered by you, or drawn from a governed rate that a genuinely independent reviewer on your account has explicitly promoted.

No warranty on pricing accuracy

CivilEstimate is not a licensed quantity surveyor, engineer, or provider of professional estimating advice, and using it does not make a price correct, complete, or fit for submission. You are responsible for having any tender independently reviewed by a competent person before it is relied on commercially. This applies with particular force to governed rates still marked "held": by design, nobody has promoted them yet, and they are not meant to be treated as validated.

Pilot-stage service, no uptime commitment

This is an early, actively-changing pilot, not a mature commercial product with a service-level agreement. Features, saved-data formats, and this pilot program itself may change or be withdrawn. Export your own backups (Exports and recovery, in the app) rather than relying on CivilEstimate as your only copy of a tender.

Your account and your data

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for what happens under your account. What CivilEstimate stores, and how it can be exported or deleted, is set out on the Privacy page -- these terms don't repeat it, but it's part of the agreement between us.

Acceptable use

Don't use CivilEstimate to store or process data you don't have the right to use, to attempt to access another account's tenders, or to interfere with the service. Governed rates you import must be genuinely sourced -- don't fabricate a source to get a rate promoted.

Liability

CivilEstimate is provided "as is" during this pilot. To the fullest extent the law allows, neither the founder nor CivilEstimate is liable for losses arising from a price, rate, or quantity produced using the tool, including where that price was submitted in a real tender. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited (for example, for fraud).

Ending your use

You can stop using CivilEstimate and delete your account's tenders at any time. Access may be suspended or ended if these terms are breached, or if the pilot itself is wound down -- you'll be given reasonable notice and a chance to export your data where practical.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the pilot develops. Continuing to use CivilEstimate after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland.
